The Amendment Ordinance seeks to amend the Companies (Winding Up and Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance (Cap. 32) and its subsidiary legislation to increase protection of creditors, streamline the winding up process and strengthen regulation under the winding up regime with a view to improving and modernising Hong Kong's corporate winding-up regime. Related, consequential and minor technical amendments are also made to relevant legislations.
